Are you Queer/Trans Asian and/or Pacific Islander (QTAPI) who appreciates nature or has thought about how the climate crisis affects you, your family, your people, your country, your tribe, your land, or your world? Are you interested in gathering with other QTAPI folks to tell and listen to stories, learn about the climate crisis and its solutions, or write and create stories in a connected and supportive environment?
No science degree or prior writing experience required! Come join, be yourself, learn, connect!
We are looking for co-sponsoring QTAPI and QTAPI-allied organizations interested and willing to support, spread the world, and invite their members to participate! Please contact us if you and your organizations are interested!
Featuring:
- Mioi Hanaoka who will present on haiku, its origins in Japanese culture and history, and the practice of present-day haiku writing as it relates to our relationship with the natural world
- Shelley Wong who will present on poetry and place
- Emcee’d by Michelle Meow, Host of the Michelle Meow show on KBCW and the Commonwealth Club of CA, and Nguyen Pham, Board Member of Prism Foundation and SF Pride, Mister GAPA 2013 Sir Whitney Queers
- Interactive writing workshop, including practice, support, and sharing
