Welcome LavNix’s New Cultural Strategy Organizer!
Dear Lavender Phoenix Community,
We have exciting news: Bisma Farzansyed (they/them) has joined Lavender Phoenix as our Cultural Strategy Organizer! Bisma is an experienced organizer, a budding herbalist, and a medicine-maker. They’ve organized powerful digital campaigns and created heart-centered spaces for trans, queer, disabled folks and elders to grow.
Bisma first joined LavNix at our 2021 Member Appreciation Celebration. Now, in their new role, Bisma will use art, storytelling, and communications to make our community’s visions real. They’ll support our Communications Committee to create impactful campaigns, lead new initiatives to connect through art and healing, and help cultivate the storytelling voice in all of our members.
When asked how they’re most excited to grow in this role, Bisma shared:
I am excited to learn how to build a movement through LavNix’s values—especially in community with our members. I hope to gain a rich understanding of the cultural legacy of Lavender Phoenix and organize strong narratives in our social climate.
I am excited to offer my skills as a community organizer, medicine maker, and artist. I hope to meaningfully share my own stories and my healing journey, and cultivate a space of abundance for other trans & queer APIs to do the same. I am ready to enthusiastically advocate for the needs and successes of our community!
Please help us radically welcome Bisma into their new role! If you want to learn more and grow a community of storytellers alongside them, reach out at bisma@lavenderphoenix.org.
With hope and solidarity,
Yuan Wang
